The square frame bed is similar to the four post bed.  They have the four posts coming up from the corners, but in addition they have bars that connect across the frame that goes around the bed.  This provides a very useful purpose other than making the bed frame extremely sturdy and reliable.  The cross bars can be used to hang decorations, pictures, or other fabrics so your bed can have that personal touch you are looking for.

With the Captain's bed extra storage space is designed into the side of the frame.  It may seem by the name of this style o canopy bed that it might have some sort of naval theme to it.  What distinguishes they style of bed is that there are drawers installed at the base of the bed for storage.  You might want to consider the Captain's canopy bed is you have a small room, and you need additional storage space.

The antique canopy bed strives to attain a look from a time long past.  It could be original or imitation antique, but either way they usually are made using hard woods and stained with a warm looking finish.  Ornate carvings are usually found along the frame, footing, and headboard.  These beds require special care and maintenance of the wood frame, and usually requires a good polish every few months to keep it looking its best.  They can be a great addition to your room, and even become a collectors piece.
