A lot of space is occupied by a typical standard bed. If you use a box spring below your bed then it usually takes up 12 inches of the height of the bed resulting in less of the storage space, for this would need a stool to go in and out of the bed. A platform bed is the ideal option in this scenario as it is more easily accessible but also gives more storage area beneath.

Also keep in mind that storage beds are not limited to an under mattress storage only. You can easily build a base which is longer and broader than the mattress, and even put in cabinets there that go beyond the mattress. Choose wooden daybedsas they are strong and more durable. The cabinets with doors also can serve the purpose of storage space. These doors also help in preventing the dust from settling on the items.

Drawer chest are very well known in the under-bed storage as well as it is very convenient with the top of the drawer open and pulling things at ease. You do not have to take a lot of extra effort to extract something. These drawers could be just plain boxes on wheels but ensure that enough handles are added to the front. Beneath the bed bookshelves are also added, although they do not stop the dust from settling but it serves as a good library space. In the bed frameworks, you can use various frames like box springs and platforms, but whatever you use there will be decided by the tops on which the bed will eventually rest.
