I've looked everywhere online, but am unable to find anything besides the type that you hang from the ceiling, you know like the mosquito netting type...The kind I'm looking for would be able to hang on the rods connecting the 4 posts of my queen sized bed.

They give me a feeling a privacy and security, but what do you think of curtains around your bed or a draping canopy?

The Background History of Canopy Bed Curtains
In medieval Europe the traditional four-poster bed was considered to be a symbol of prosperity and was commonly used by noblemen and other people of high social standing. During this era the ruling Lords and nobles often slept in the same large room as their servants and attendant in large stately manors and castles. This meant heavy drapes needed to be suspended from iron rods that were attached to a wooden frame fastened to ceilings to give privacy and warmth. These heavy drapes and worsted fabrics were mainly imported from overseas countries and were often made from lavish fabrics like chintz from India and velvet from Italy.
During the 16th century the canopy bed evolved and slowly became a fashionable fixture in bed chambers. These elaborate wooden canopies became popular because they could be completely enclosed with curtains that were hung from a frame fixed to the four bed posts. To provide privacy for the owner luxurious fabrics were used as canopy curtains to cover the exposed area between the posts fully enclosing the bed.
Today, bed canopies are made to reflect a traditional or contemporary style and are mainly made in either solid black metal frames or ornate varnished wooden frames and posts. Many people appreciate the classy look of a bed canopy but often don't take the next step and buy one because of the overall expense or the thought they are a remnant of the past.
However, there are some bed manufacturers who custom make canopy beds for consumers and they can be supplied in wrought iron or wood in full, single, twin, Queen or King size.
Buying a canopy bed these days along with the accompanying attractive fabric can be expensive, but with a little imagination and some innovation the theme of an ordinary bedroom can be changed into an eye-catching romantic sanctuary.
This can be done by exchanging your existing bed for a bed canopy and covering it with stylish canopy bed curtains made from a classy fabric in virtually any color to suit your taste and the bedroom décor.

I want to put curtains on it, but I can't find them anywhere! All I can seem to find is ugly mosquito net material. I want something sheer and silky feeling. Anyone know of a place that sells canopy bed curtains? Thanks!

I bought a used canopy bed for my six-year-old daughter and want to find curtains to hang on it, but can't find them anywhere!! The only set I've been able to find is at Pottery Barn Kids -- $40 for curtains for one side of the bed. Does anyone know where I can find these kinds of curtains? There's no way I can sew them - Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens & Things and other usual suspects don't carry them.
