How To Choose A Bed Frame For Your Master Bedroom

Although it may not seem very important, a bed frame can really change the feel of your bed and bedroom. It can greatly compliment the style of your bedroom if selected carefully and correctly. Don't be afraid to spend a little extra on a bed frame, after all, you'll probably have the same frame in your master bedroom for years to come.

Aside from selecting a bed size like a queen bed frame, king size bed or California king bed, there are a variety of bed frames you can choose from. Consider these ideas and tips before making a speedy decision to buy a bed frame for your master bedroom.

* Sleigh Bed Frame: A classy wood sleigh bed frame will give an immediate feel of solidity. With the tall headboard and slightly shorter footboard, a sleigh bed has a very unique and recognizable style. Especially on larger sized bed frames, the sleigh bed frame can be quite impressive and give a sense of strength. It's also great for one who loves to sit up and read, watch TV, work on their laptop, etc.

* Platform Bed Frame: Platform (or modern) bed frames highly resemble storage beds but they actually don't have storage and are thinner and more modern. Keeping it simple, a platform bed frame doesn't require a box spring keeping it an even flatter and cleaner look. This is one of the more modern types of bed frames and if you want to make your bedroom look futuristic, this is the bed frame for you.

* Canopy Bed Frame: For an old-fashioned look, canopy beds are the perfect bed frame (although there are new canopy-styled bed frames which boast a curve over the bed itself to give it a very modern/futuristic look). Putting a canopy bed frame in your master bedroom usually requires a slightly larger bedroom because the bed itself appears to take up a lot of room (more vertically than horizontally) and could make the room feel smaller. But regardless of where you put it, once you're sleeping in your new canopy bed, you can't help but feel like royalty.

* Storage Bed Frame: For those trying to save on space, storage bed frames are the way to go. There are usually drawers built into the bed frame which are usually used for blankets, sheets, pillows, etc. Others have built-in storage areas under the mattress giving even more space for storage. Some storage bed frames have enough space to replace even something as large as a dresser. Either way, storage beds will give you a handy location to store extra things to save space in other parts of the bedroom.
